Athletics centre levy causes confusion
The approval of a revised motion to get funding from students for UTM's planned Athletics, Recreation, and Wellness centre has been delayed until next month. Confusion was the word of the day at the latest Quality Service to Students (QSS) meeting where this decision was made.


QSS is a body of student leaders and university administrators who oversee and grant (dis)approval of non-academic incidental fees.

Aramark food-service contract extended to 2006
Aramark has been serving UTM since August 1998, when the company won a bid to provide nearly all food services on campus. The original contract was for six years, but this past August, the contract was extended for two years bringing it to August 2006.

Parking in favor of baseball
The UTM baseball diamond is no more. During the last few weeks, the baseball field has been bulldozed; its lighting and fencing dismantled. It should be completely paved over within days.

Reduce tuition rally to be held this week
Of all the issues concerning students, the rising cost of tuition probably unites us most. Almost every student will proudly wear a “Reduce Tuition Fees” button or sign a petition demanding affordable education; most would do more, if opportunity presented itself.

 

 

Clubs week transforms Student Centre
This past week at UTM has brought a new meaning to the word 'clubbing.' As students dragged themselves to early Monday morning classes, they found the Student Centre had transformed into a zoo of academic, athletic, and ethnic clubs.
