Kaneff donates $100,000
In the early morning hours of Monday July 28, 2003, businessman, developer, and philanthropist Ignat Kaneff came one step closer to completing his pledge of $1 million towards the Student Centre. Kaneff presented UTM principal Ian Orchard with a cheque for $100,000. The donation brings Kaneff's total contribution to the Student Centre to $900,000; just $100,000 short of his original pledge of $1 million.
